Reducing Waste in Minnesota, Improving Lives in BoliviaIn the US, millions of pounds of usable supplies – from medical items like gowns and gloves to other items like school supplies and construction equipment – are thrown away every year. Meanwhile, the rural poverty rate in rural Bolivia is up to 94%, and the most basic supplies are not available for residents in these isolated communities.
Mano a Mano collects donated supplies in the US and ships them to Bolivia, where they are distributed to Mano a Mano’s network of clinics, other hospitals & clinics, other nonprofit organizations, and individuals in need from throughout the country. Last year, dozens of organizations from around the Bolivia traveled to Mano a Mano to receive donated supplies; some had traveled 2 and a half days to attend. Many individuals came to receive wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, and braces. WANT TO HELP?
