There had to be a better way to donate my stuff.... except there wasn't.
After several family members passed away, we had a lot of things to go through and I didn't need it all. I wanted it to have a new life and do good. I quickly and painfully realized there was no easy way to search all the different organizations that needed things, and I wasn't willing to part with everything through a donation center.
I got to work and created Donate Good Stuff so others in the same situation would have a resource.

I quickly and painfully realized there was no easy way to search all the different organizations that needed things, and I wasn't willing to part with everything through a donation center.
I got to work and created Donate Good Stuff so others in the same situation would have a resource.
I wanted my donations to make a difference and not to simply be resold or recycled (or risk being trashed). The search tool on DonateGoodStuff.org makes it easier to get your donations to the best possible place. Plus, you can see the direct impact of your donation right in the search. I hope these features make donating easier and more fulfilling.
After 4 years of making Donate Good Stuff a resource locally, in 2019, I said goodbye to my corporate career to do something I believe makes the world a better place now and for those who come after us. Our plan is to grow DonateGoodStuff.org to become the #1 resource in the U.S. for people with donation items.
The DonateGoodStuff.org team will continue to expand to new communities, add new features, help organizations reach out to the people around them, create less waste, and make a difference for every person (or animal) that receives your donations.
